Postpartum visits:
~ Your skilled midwife always allows for the family to bond while she addresses mom and baby during the postpartum period
~ Your midwife will stay with you for up to 4 hours after birth, unless she is needed longer
~ Your midwife comes to visit you and the new addition at a 24hour visit
~ 3 day visit
~ 10 day visit
~ 3 week visit
~ And your final visit at 6 weeks
~ During those visits your midwife is checking your recovery and making sure baby is adjusting, growing, and breastfeeding well
~ Your midwife is still on-call for you for any concerns you have as a new mom
Midwives Model of Care™
The Midwives Model of Care™ is based on the fact that pregnancy and birth are normal life events. The Midwives Model of Care includes:
~Monitoring the physical, psychological and social well-being of the mother throughout the childbearing cycle
~Providing the mother with individualized education, counseling, and prenatal care, continuous hands-on Assistance during labor and delivery, and postpartum support
~Minimizing technological interventions and;
~Identifying and referring women who require obstetrical attention
The application of this model has been proven to reduce to incidence of birth injury, trauma, and cesarean section.
